Views of water and sky worth trekking to…
Waterfalls

- Mine Kill Falls– Short trip from a parking lot to the viewing platform, or park by the entrance booth and take the longer trail…
- Red Falls– Close and gorgeous + in summer you can swim there, but parking is difficult/by the road and a bit of a hike…
- Kaaterskill Falls– Famous, so crowded on nice days, but worth the visit if you’ve never been…
- Schoharie Creek/Reservoir– Has two falls, (Hardenburgh and Manorkill), but they are hard to get to and you have to be creative with parking- basically pull off somewhere along the road and hike a bit… for adventurous kind…
Fire Towers

- Mt. Utsayantha– Gorgeous views and easy access… either park at where Tower Road starts and walk a mile uphill, or just drive up in good conditions…
- Hunter Mountain Fire Tower– Second highest summit in Catskills, bit of a hike, but worth it for the views and exercise… map is to the trailhead…
- Leonard Hill Fire Tower– 3.3 miles of rustic walking and the tower might still be under construction… but if you want some fun hiking and some views from high with no people around, go for it…
